Demet Özdemir is a Turkish actress and former dancer. She made her acting debut as Aylin Gündoğdu in Sana Bir Sır Vereceğim (I’ll Tell You a Secret). Also acted in Çilek Kokusu (Strawberry Smell, also: Ekin Mert Daymaz), Kırmızı Oda (The Red Room, also: Burak Sevinç, Aybüke, Nihal, Salih & Emin), Aşk Taktikleri (Love Tactics, also: Şükrü), Doğduğun Ev Kaderindir (My Home My Destiny), Adım Farah (My Name Is Farah, also: Feyyaz & Engin Akyürek) and Kurt Seyit ve Şura (Kurt Seyit and Shura, also: Cem, Fahriye, Kıvanç, Birkan & Elçin) and more. The film Cinlerin Düğünü (Trans.: Wedding of the Jinns), which also stars Helin Kandemir will be released soon.

Facts:

• she started dancing at the age of 15
• she studied and danced at the same time to support her family
• was a backup dancer for singer Bengü and appeared in Mustafa Sandal‘s Ateş Et ve Unut Music Video
• later she joined a dance group called Efes Kızları
• her grandmother immigrated from Bulgaria, their family was one of the Turkish minorities in Bulgaria
• she takes part in various social responsibility projects
• has two siblings, sister Derya Özdemir and brother Volkan Özdemir
• her elementary school teacher was her first love, his hands were really pretty and he wore a different suit everyday she says
• demet’s older sister secretly went to Istanbul, signed up with an agency, posed for a magazine cover and appeared in a music video
  • when their father found out, the family fell apart
  • later she moved to Istanbul with her mother and sister
• when her sister suddenly fell in love and got married out of the blue, their lives were turned upside down, Demet and her mother were left struggling
• says that love is all about chemistry, it’s an incredible moment that happens in a second; you can’t plan or describe it
  • she doesn’t believe love lasts long and thinks that after the initial passion fades, it turns into something more real; into affection
• she has also recorded songs for TV series she acted in, such as Erkenci Kuş (Early Bird/Daydreamer, with Can Yaman) and Eşref Rüya (with Çağatay Ulusoy)
