Alişan Serkan Tektaş is a Turkish singer, host and actor. Although he originally started out as a singer, he’s best known for his roles in Cennet Mahallesi (Paradise Neighbourhood) and Aynalı Tahir. He has been hosting his own shows under different titles since 2003.

Facts:

• he is of Zaza origin and from Bingöl, so he’s Kurdish
• his musical talent was recognized by his family at a young age
  • at just two years old, he could sing İbrahim Tatlıses’ “Sabuha” and İzzet Altınmeşe’s “Maden Dağı” by heart
  • during his school years, teachers would make him sing folk songs during class breaks and this continued until he graduated from high school
• although he wanted it very much, he failed the Latin Dance School entrance exam by one point and couldn’t become a pilot
• before entering the music industry, his name was Serkan Burak
• due to the intensity of his music career, he had to leave the conservatory at the end of his third year because of absenteeism
• he made his first album in his first year of high school with the financial support from his father
• since the Cennet Mahallesi series, he has been known for his close friendship with Çağla Şıkel, with whom he also co-hosted a TV show for some time
• completed 15 months of military service and performed over 100 concerts at morale nights for soldiers
• since his brother’s death, he has won people’s hearts with his deep love and strong bond with his nieces, being not just an uncle, but like a father to them
• in 2025, he went to Umrah (Islamic Pilgrimage) with his wife
