Belgin Şimşek is a Turkish actress. She acted in Benim Hayatım (My Life), Yasak Elma (Forbidden Apple, also: Doğaç, Biran & Erdem), Canım Annem (A Mother’s Love), Dünya Bu (The World as It Is) and as Gonca Hatun in Kuruluş: Osman (Establishment: Osman, also: Seray, Emre, Burak Özçivit, Ali, Miray, Erdem & Burak Çelik) & Kuruluş: Orhan (Establishment: Orhan, also: Barış, Semih, Alina, Bennu, Cemre, Mahassine, Mert & Şükrü) and more.

Facts:

• her mother is from Ordu and her father is from Giresun, so she’s from the Black Sea region
• completed her training and graduated from the Sadri Alışık Cultural Center
  • acting training period was challenging but rewarding; she worked and studied with little sleep, yet looks back on it fondly

• on the set of Kuruluş: Osman, she recalls a few challenging scenes, especially Alaeddin and Gonca’s first race; the horses were restless that day and kept trying to race each other, which made the shoot difficult
  • her first day on set left her amazed, filming at the Konya Palace in costume felt surreal and the attention to detail helped her deeply connect with Gonca Hatun’s spirit
