Elçin Zehra İrem is a Turkish actress. She acted in Merkez (Centre), Babasının Kızı (Daddy’s Girl), Hicran, Kardeşlerim (My Siblings, also: Lizge Cömert, Celil Nalçakan & Yaren Yapıcı), Zamanın Kapıları (Doors of Destiny, also: Esra Bilgiç, Birkan Sokullu, Şükrü Özyıldız & Cem Bender), Stalker, Hudutsuz Sevda (Boundless Love, also: Deniz Can Aktaş, Burak Çelik, Burak Sevinç & Onur Dilber) and as Burçin in Sevdiğim Sensin (You Are the One I Love, also: Barış Baktaş, Cihat Süvarioğlu & Helin Kandemir).

Facts:

• before appearing on television, she took part in many theatre productions
  • she says it is impossible for her to separate theatre and television acting, as both have their own unique and beautiful atmosphere
• her TV acting journey began at a wedding
  • it all started when she met actress and casting director Öznur Kula at a wedding, Öznur already knew that she had been performing in theatre and told her “I’m going to introduce you to someone for a TV series” then took her to the audition for her first TV show, Hicran
  • later that same day, she received a call informing her that she had been selected for the role of Hicran
  • she admits that television acting had always been something she wanted and thought about
• she says there isn’t a specific role she wants to play, once she truly feels a character, she believes she can portray anything
  • because she loves her profession so much, she enjoys working extensively on the characters she brings to life, in her view, anything is possible in life
• her greatest ideal is to be remembered for the way her acting touches people’s hearts with excellence
  • although she acknowledges that dreaming is a beautiful thing, she admits she is not someone who indulges in grand fantasies, at least not when it comes to her career
  • she prefers to experience things as they come rather than getting lost in expectations beforehand
• she recalls being insulted by someone at a shopping mall and responding simply with, “Thank you.”
  • the person then said “Oh! You’re nothing like you are in the series.” she laughs; “Well, how could I be the same person from the show?”
  • she admits that it happens, people sometimes assume she is the character they watch on screen in real life as well
• she says “Come to me with anything, but don’t come with lies. Whatever it is, just say it.” 
  • even if the truth will hurt her or lead to something difficult, she prefers honesty, she describes this as a life principle: lies hurt her far more than painful truths
  • while she can overlook small matters, she cannot tolerate dishonesty in issues that truly affect life
