Halef: Köklerin Çağrısı is a Turkish drama series produced by Most Production and broadcast on NOW. Directed by Deniz Çelebi Dikilitaş and written by Ercan Uğur. The series premiered on September 18, 2025. İlhan Şen, Aybüke Pusat and Biran Damla Yılmaz star in the leading roles. Filming takes place in Şanlıurfa. Traditional stone mansions, narrow streets, and historic inns are shot in Şanlıurfa’s city center. Architectural views along the Euphrates River and the sunken mosque scenes are filmed in Halfeti. Domed houses and vast steppe landscapes in Harran and bridges and town scenes along the Euphrates in Birecik. The Istanbul scenes are filmed in Beykoz.
Plot:
The series follows Serhat, a successful surgeon who is forced to return to his hometown Şanlıurfa, after marrying the woman he loves, Melek, in Istanbul. To end a long-standing blood feud between two powerful families, his family pressures him to marry Yıldız. The story explores Serhat’s struggle as he is torn between his heart and his conscience, and between traditional life and the modern world.
