Sümeyye Aydoğan is a Turkish actress. She acted in Kahraman Babam (My Dad, My Hero), Sadakatsiz (The Unfaithful/A Woman Scorned, also: Taro Emir Tekin, Caner & Bennu), Geçen Yaz (Last Summer), Duy Beni (Hear Me, also: Helin), Taçsız Prenses (Little Big Heart), Dönence (Daylight/The Tropical, also: Ülkü), Akif (also: Emre), Magarsus (also: Merve & Cem), Hatıran Yeter (Transl.: Your Memory is Enough), Sustalı Ceylan (also: Burak Yörük & Celil), Yeraltı (Underground, also: Sunay Kurtuluş, Ekin Aksoy, Hakan Çelebi, Nilay Erdönmez, Ekin Mert Daymaz, Burak Sevinç, Uraz, Deniz Can, Ülkü & Devrim) and more. Facts:

• her family is originally of Albanian origin and comes from Aydın and Edirne
• she took piano lessons three times, but she has to admit that the piano is unfortunately not an instrument for her
  • it requires a lot of effort and a lot of time, she wishes she could play it
  • there was a time when she made a serious attempt at learning the violin and the guitar, but unfortunately the results were unsuccessful
• her introduction to acting actually began with theatre during middle school and high school, she took part in theatre productions
• when she moved to Istanbul for university, one day while walking in Beşiktaş, someone approached her and asked if she wanted to become an actress, that’s how this journey began although at that time, her main goal wasn’t to become an actress
  • now, looking back, she spends many hours and so much effort on her profession because she loves it a lot
  • seeing that the sweet coincidence (although, she doesn’t believe in coincidences) that brought her here wasn’t really a coincidence, but rather that her hard work is paying off step by step, makes her very happy, she hopes it continues with the same momentum
  • she’s grateful that she happened to walk down that street that day
• sports are a very important part of her life, as long as she has the time and opportunity, she does Pilates two or three days a week and makes sure to do yoga at least one day a week
• she had long wanted to adopt a cat and had contacted many veterinarians before, right after the earthquake, she saw Lady on a friend’s post and adopted her within five minutes, Lady was at her home the next day
  • when he first arrived, he was a little grumpy and scared because of his traumas from the earthquake
  • she says he has problems in his sleep, but the fact that a cat friend (named Dayı) came to him relieved him a lot
  • says she hopes she can adopt more animals
• often tells herself “I’m glad I entered this industry” because when she stays calm and listens to herself, asking “Would you want to be anywhere else, Sümeyye?” she always realises that she wouldn’t
  • she keeps imagining herself on sets, that’s why in every project, every meeting, every script reading, she gratefully says “I’m glad you’re in this profession, I’m glad you do this work.”
  • every project brings her a unique excitement and a new reason to feel grateful, she’s glad, for instance, that she’s giving interviews
• says, if she seems energetic and happy, she’s glad for that, because it’s actually her life motto
  • every morning, no matter what happened the day before, she wakes up telling herself “Yes, Sümeyye, a new day has begun and today is going to be great.” 
  • she believes this helps boost her energy, she puts on some nice music, does her meditation and yoga and she’s been cooking a lot, which she’s noticed makes her feel really good
